Gold futures closed higher in the domestic market on Friday as speculators raised their bets amid a firming trend overseas.
Analysts said a firming trend in the global markets, mainly influenced gold prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, gold futures for April 2017 contract ended at Rs 29187 per 10 grams, down by 0.34 per cent, after opening at Rs 29,016 against a previous close of Rs 29,089. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 29,204.
