Cement Stocks Outlook for the week – 27 to 31.07.2015

========================================================================

A bearish bias is seen prevailing in benchmark indices in a trigger-heavy week ahead. Companies Apr-Jun earnings, the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, expiry of July derivatives contracts, and the US Federal Open Market Committee's monetary policy meeting are some of the major events which will be closely tracked during the next week.

The overall market sentiment seems to be low owing to lack of progress on key bills in the ongoing Parliament session. If you observe in the past three days, indices weakened only in the second half of the trading session. This is because the Parliamentary houses kept getting adjourned and policy markers are taking too long to pass key bills on Goods and Services Tax and land acquisition.

Most Nifty companies have posted poor Apr-Jun earnings so far. Banks, which form a major portion of Nifty constituents, have reported higher non-performing assets and provisions this quarter as well, "Earnings of major sector-leaders will be key in setting market trend for next week.

Ambuja Cements, Tech Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki India, Punjab National Bank, Vedanta, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, NTPC, ICICI Bank, and Larsen & Toubro are among the Nifty constituents posting Apr-Jun earnings next week.

Shares of Bharat Electronics, Agro Tech Foods, Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services, and State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur will also be in focus as they are yet to report Apr-Jun earnings today.

Andhra Bank, Havells India, Indian Overseas Bank, Persistent Systems, and Pfizer will detail their earnings for the reporting quarter on Saturday. Investors will also await details on Justice A.P. Shah Committee's final report on Minimum Alternate Tax. The authorities are meeting today, but the government may only announce its stance on the issue after Supreme Court gives its verdict on the  Castleton case.

The Supreme Court is slated to give its order on a plea filed by Castleton Investment against
minimum alternate tax demand on Aug 4. The Bombay High Court has also stayed the hearing on Aberdeen Global Emerging Markets' plea against Minimum Alternate Tax demand till the Supreme Court gives its verdict the Castleton case.

Pharma Stocks Outlook for the week – 20 to 24.07.2015

=======================================================================

After gaining 3% this week and hitting three-month highs, stock indices are seen consolidating next week. Any decisive move on the upside will depend on global developments, monsoon session of Parliament and corporate earnings announcements.

This week, positive sentiment after the Iran nuclear deal and Greece Parliamentary vote accepting austerity measures took indices to higher levels, with the National Stock Exchange's Nifty reclaiming the 8600-point mark.

However, domestic equities ended yesterday session on a flat note, in the absence of any major
triggers and as traders turned cautious ahead of Germany's Parliament vote on Greece's bailout
package.

After market hours yesterday, the German Parliament voted in favour of starting negotiations on the third bailout for Greece.

Market participants expect activity to be stock-specific in the coming week but indices are not likely to see any major downside either.

The provisional trading activity data of FIIs corroborates the fact that the underlying sentiment
remains positive. According to provisional data on the NSE website, FIIs net bought Indian shares worth 6.05 bln rupees on the BSE, NSE, and Metropolitan Stock Exchange combined, and domestic Institutional investors net sold shares worth 1.75 bln rupees.

On the earnings front, 13 Nifty constituents--UltraTech Cement, Asian Paints, Cairn India, HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Idea Cellular, Infosys, Bajaj Auto, GAIL India, Lupin, Wipro, Axis Bank and Reliance Industries—will detail Apr-Jun earnings.

Federal Bank, Hindustan Zinc, Kitex Garments, LIC Housing Finance, Eicher Motors, Bharti
Infratel, CEAT and L&T Finance Holdings will also report numbers for the quarter ended June.

Indian Markets Outlook for the week – 13.Jul.2015 to 17.Jul.2015 (Economic data and earnings eyed next week)

www.rupeedesk.in )

A host of factors such as developments in global markets, corporate earnings for Apr-Jun, and domestic economic data will lend cues to benchmark indices next week. Data released post market hours yesterday showed that industrial growth in May came in at 2.7%, lower than the expected 4.0%. Inflation data for June, based on the Consumer Price Index and Wholesale Price Index will be detailed on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

We expect inflation based on CPI is likely to have remained largely unchanged at 5.1% balanced by the rise in vegetable prices and moderation in fuel prices. Inflation based on WPI, meanwhile, is likely to rise to a four-month high of (-) 2.2% primarily due to a rise in vegetable prices.

On the earnings front, IndusInd Bank, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, and ACC are the National Stock Exchange's Nifty constituents which will detail their Apr-Jun numbers next week. Other companies include MindTree, NIIT Technologies, HT Media, South Indian Bank, Cyient, DB Corp, Mastek, Credit Analysis and Research, CRISIL, NIIT and Federal Bank.

Globally, the movement in overseas markets, particularly China will be watched. Developments in Greece as it negotiates with its creditors will also be tracked. The reforms package submitted by Greece to creditors on Thursday will be put before the Greek Parliament yesterday. The package will be discussed at the European Union summit over the weekend.

Share indices are seen moving in a narrow range next week following this, with trader sentiment remaining cautious to slightly positive on the back of movement this week. Despite the turmoil in global equities, Nifty and the S&P BSE Sensex have ended with a loss of 1.5% each for the week.

The domestic stock market has remained largely insulated in the current Chinese equity market crash. FIIs (foreign institutional investors) have started to turn positive on Indian equities of late  while incremental fund flows could continue in Indian equities.
